Hi can anyone offer any advice or suggestions. I have just brought another Mk1 06 after a few years trying all sorts. Anyway just tried to remove the upper fairing and the bolt by the headlight is turning but not coming out any ideas?

Sounds like the brass ferule has come out that it screws into (possibly due to previously being overtightened).
Have a read of the first few posts in this topic which might give you pointers:

Hi,redmaxcat.Had the same on my 2009. Eventually the brass moulded -in female piece will come away from the fairing itself and this ( the fairing) can then be removed. You will then have visible the brass fairing insert with its corroded-in steel 8mm bolt . Remove & then follow the previous advice re re-cementing in the brass piece,Ed.
