Post by: Busa1 on 27 September, 2020, 08:28:48 PM
Hi all just would like to say a great big hello to all of you.
I haven't had a Honda for years think the last on I had was a Honda 400/4 that's how long ago it was lol. I just bought a 2007 CBF1000, and it's only done less than 6k wow
I have the hayabusa as well just sold my TL1000s and Gs 650
I love this Honda what a great bike I was looking to buy a bandit 1200 I'm so glad I don't .

It's a cbr engine restricted isn't it? Can you  derestrict it?

What you have there is a SC58 CBF 1000 A-7

Sure it has a SC57E engine which is a factory detuned CBR1000 engine, the engines are similar but very different. Can you de-restrict it? Short answer - No.

Many before you have confused detuned with restricted, detuned simple means it has some common parts. A quick glance at the general specifications reveals those common parts may just be the short engine (cylinder block, pistons, con rods and crankshaft). Which means that you'd need to replace the cylinder head, valve train, camshafts, throttle bodies, re-map the ECU, sort the gear ratios & final drive and then some!

If you want a fully tuned SC57 engine then transplant one from a CBR 1000
