Title: ticking noise
Post by: Enlevike on 05 August, 2020, 02:41:09 PM

Hi guys, just a quick question, i hear a ticking noise when i push put the bike from my yard(it's a cbf1000 08), so with engine stopped and in N. I can still hear the sound when riding  low speed, rolling in n or 1st gear....
When on the centre stand i can't hear it anymore. I changed the small sprocket aprox 1000miles ago as i thought that's the reason of this sound, but unfortunately it wasn't..
Any ideeas?

HI Enlevike,

That could be misaligned rear wheel (not very likely, as it has to be way off), or more likely you need to loose the chain a little bit. I'm talking 1/8 of a turn, maybe even less.
I find that the manual with its 20-30mm chain slack is not really accurate in my opinion. It's more like 30-35

Give it a go and let us know

:0461: above, + have you checked your rear tyre for the likes of stones/screws etc stuck in it?
