Title: Accessory Plug/Socket
Post by: NewGuy on 29 July, 2020, 03:36:50 PM
I'm sure this has been done several times by others but I'm looking for an easy way to install an accessory plug/socket on my 2008 MK1? I know I can figure it out on my own but if someone's done it already it would be great to see an description.

It's great to be "back in the saddle" after about 30 years.

Thanks in advance

Wired my accessory loom off a SPDT change over relay and took the trigger from the number plate light wiring. At present it gives me a fused 12v socket off pin 87a when the ignition is off and switched lives for another 12v socket, 2 off  USB sockets, Sat Nav and a spare 12v switched live connection.

do you have a plug in battery charger?.... if so that dongle is the easiest way... Buy cigarette lighter unit for under the seat and simply wire a male end on the trailing lead side and plug it into the dongle whenever needed
