Title: Anyone tried The Amazing Madstad Brackets ?
Post by: Careca on 07 June, 2020, 10:47:58 PM
Apologies for starting another screen thread. I have read pages and pages and pages of them . All very informative.

But ..............I still  have 1 question.

Has anyone tried the The Amazing Madstad Brackets and if so did it work ?

Out of everything i have read , this is the one I think I may want to try first.

I bought a set for my previous bike vstrom and they totally tranformed the bike.Very good indeed, but not sure if it would be the same on the cbf.hope someone has them so they can tell you.
Good luck.

I have have had Madstad set ups on all my bikes but it did not work out on the CBF1000a. It vibrated way to much. Now maybe they re-engineered them.

What did work really well  - went from barely acceptable at speed for touring to WOW.

And incredibly inexpensive

Mac and Yzerman, did you source the unit from Amazon Canada and did you attach it to the stock windscreen? I have the Mra vario which looks the same but height maybe different . I will get the measuring tape out.

I happened to source from US ( we work cross border ) but actually might be cheaper in Canada.

Marginal photos but might serve as a starting point for someone just installing.
dropped the vario screen down a bit as I moved the seat to the lowest position.
And kept the angle of the vario the same as the biffer screen.

There was only one size available. Don't think I'd want larger.

Thank you, on Amazon.ca , I couldn't find a delivery before the end of July and August, I,ve had two cervical interventions in the last two years and am struggling with the cbf for the first time, I,m fine at non highway speeds but soon as I slab , I want to kill myself after two hours. I have two biffers since 2011 one overseas ad one here, greatest bikes I,ve owned but might be time to move on. Sigh

Yes, I got it from eBay, it fits quite a few screens as the bases swivel a fair bit.
