Title: Wind and damage
Post by: Ianrobbo1 on 10 February, 2020, 05:41:34 PM
For all those unfortunate enough to have to keep their pride and joy, outside and under a cover, take care with this wind, it can turn the cover into a sail, and may well drag your bike over, last time it blew a bit, a few unlucky people had their bikes damaged like this.

All sound advice. We spent Saturday night camping out in a farmers field in Snowdonia and had a few bikes blown over and that was without covers on. Fortunately the ground was a mud bath so little damage sustained. Mine went over twice and I count myself lucky to have escaped with just a cracked O/S mirror.

Happy Days

Some hardy folk hereabouts. Mine is still tucked up in the garage with it's umbilical Optimate attached. Brrrr!!

I have had similar problems with my scooter, living up a big hill in Scotland. My solution is a Rok strap around the mirror mount and through the railings next to the steps on my drive. Works a treat in keeping it upright in a storm.
Just an idea that may help others.
