What you have there is a SC58 CBF1000 A9 a much overlooked but an excellent choice for a Sports Tourer that ticks many boxes in its class. A big plus for me is the ease in which it can be serviced and maintained at home by the home mechanic without the need of any special tools or diagnostic equipment. If you’re allowed spanners and you haven't already, you may want to download the Honda Workshop and Owners Manuals here.

Hi and welcome Paul. I also have an 09 reg, and possibly not that far away from you in East Lancashire (Accrington). Enjoy your cbf.

Hi Yorker, I haven’t noticed any problems with suspension front or rear. I’m not an expert on suspension setups on any bikes that I have had, and only start looking when something appears to be wrong, bottoming out or poor handling. I wouldn’t try tweaking things looking for a small improvement that I may not notice.
As you seem to be concerned then looking deeper may seem necessary. Do a search on past posts to see if it has been mentioned before. I can’t advise you as I wouldn’t know, but hopefully a search or the next answer might.
I’m busy this weekend or we possibly could have met up halfway.
I will keep a check on the post.

You need to get that checked, would normally be covered as an Advisory or Major in the MOT test. Could be fork oil, fork springs, steering head bearings etc.
