    Importing my biffer into Spain

I now spend the winter in the Canaries and am considering importing my 2006 biffer there permanently. Second hand bikes there are going for crazy money so taking my uk bike could make sense. However the practicalities seem to be daunting and with import duties, taxes etc  could be financially unviable, especially when I consider the possible cost against the actual value of my bike.
Has anyone any experience or advice on how I do it and what is the likely cost.

Does the bike have any modifications ? If yes then it won't pass the ITV inspection so that's one thing to consider before you go further.  :031:

Ride it there and back! My sister has a place in the Gran Canaria and splits her time there and here in the UK, she's been known to drive a UK registered car to and from. Now spending more time there so has a Spanish Driving Licence and LHD Spanish registered car.

    Thanks,
Yes it has mods, including lower fairings, raised bars, full luggage which I've been told they will have to be removed. Once its been through the ITV I would put them back. A friend told me the ITV are very picky, he recently had his spanish registered bike fail the ITV because the seat strap was missing.
I've thought about toing and froing with it, but that would be too expensive and at 77 don't think I'm up to it. I'd prefer to leave it there permanently.
I have read that people take vans over with furniture etc., so maybe if I could find one it could be a goer. I'd still get hit with import duty etc.
    It's a dilemna.
