Hi, my ignition key has snapped, I want to get a new one and on my spare key fob are two little aluminium tags with numbers on. One has about 10 numbers the other about 6...how do I work out which is ignition and which is luggage key...Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hi there
    Sorry for your loss, first.
So - if 42 is not the answer you're looking for, the only thing I can tell you is that my tag shows 8 digits 🤔
You might not have many options other than turning to an official dealer anyway...
Best of luck in solving this

Fear ye not, have you removed the snapped off portion ( I’m presuming it snapped in a lock) ? If you look on eBay you can get a key cut by sending a pic for about £30. You will receive a new uncoded key that you will then have to code to the bike, instructions are included I think, if not they’re readily available.

I did not know that the "Hitchhiker's Guide" was much heard of outside of the UK  :028:

It's been a while since I've read it, and back then I was a regular user of public transportation systems in Paris. It's the only book that got me laughing to tears while riding the subway, and more than once...

Thank you everyone for help...am buying a blank, going to transfer the transponder and get it cut.
I'm sure that will sort it.

Be aware that some places will not cut a key you haven’t bought from them
