    I am not a fan of cable ties to fasten fairings  :087: But then again at the weekend when removing fairings I broke a tab   :172:  off so I will have to do a JB Weld bodge job.  Could a member please send a link to a fairing kit you have used and you're happy with. I have an old 2006 but I imagine the kits are generic ?

    These things can be invisibly repaired with a little imagination, in the past I've used various combinations of:
      Lego bricks and acetone solvent (nail varnish remover);
      Araldite (the original two part resin bond adhesive) with and without glass fibre mat;
      Plastics welding using a soldering iron with cable ties for welding rods.

    If you take enough care it'll be an invisible repair on the outside, reinforcement on the inside can make it stronger than the original part.

    Availability of fairings, if there are any, will be limited to new old stock, the SC58 CBF 1000 has been out of production since 2009. When mine was involved in a hit and run while parked up the right front cowl was properly broken and I managed to pick up a second hand panel in the correct colour from a breaker off of eBay, which is probably going to be you best bet today. You may have to be patient, I waited a year for mine in the right colour.

    Hi Neil (yeah - again  :008:)
    First - sorry for your loss. Bloody plastic bits. If I may ask, could you send a pic of the damaged part? Might trigger some ideas to suggest a repair.
    And thanks Art for your suggestions of course!

    God you are so helpful... After I have wrestled the children to sleep  :164: :172:I will head out to the shed and see if I can find the offending tab and fairing
