    Will mk2 pannier racks fit on a mk1 and hold mk1 panniers?

    Any help would be appreciated and bonus points if you know someone selling a black set.

    No. Some brands of panniers and rails are interchangeable (Givi & Kappa) others are not. The SC58 and SC64 fitment is different for sure. For the SC58 the most popular set up, aside from the reassuringly expensive Honda kit, is Givi:
    PLX174 pannier racks and V35 or V37 panniers;
    PL174 pannier rails and E22, E33 or E41 panniers.

    If your starting from scratch you'll need the PLX174/PL174 bracket to mount the pannier rails or the 260FZ rack arms and a M5 plate to mount the pannier rails and a top box.

    What rack and top box do you have?

    I was always under the impression that nothing other than Honda is compatible with the Honda rack and top box set up, seems I was incorrect and that the Givi pannier rails can be made to fit with a little improvise adapt and overcome. A search of the forum will will be enlightening. If the Givi kit is compatible then, as above, the pannier rails need to be paired with the correct panniers. That is the PLX174 pannier racks and V35 or V37 panniers or the PL174 pannier rails and E22, E33 or E41 panniers.

    It all depends on what the original panniers are.
