So happy with my new CBF (Spreading Joy All Around)

Hello everyone everywhere,
I am Emmanuel, I live in a small town just outside Paris in France. Age 54, married, 4 kids, working in the IT industry where I design, sell and roll-out training plans for tech and business users.
I started riding late (besides mopeds as a teenager) with a Hornet in 2013, then a BMW R1200RT in 2019, then back to Honda in 2022 with a CTX1300 (something you don't see everyday in France) and I hitchhiked 400kms last Dec 24th to pick up my 2nd-hand CBF1000F (26000 kms) and get back home on time for Christmas eve 
It may sound like a bit of a stretch but this bike feels like the perfect blend between my Hornet (fun) and the CTX (confort and carrying capacity). Loving  it !

Well that looks an excellent bike! You will indeed find the CBF to be great at pretty much everything. It does have great carrying capacity (but don't overload the top box, it might make the front end go light), is comfortable enough to spend hours in the saddle and fast enough to be interesting. All this in an easy to ride package.

I hope you have many happy miles on it. Oh, I mean kilometres.

The CBF 1000 is an excellent choice for a Sports Tourer that ticks many boxes in its class. If you're allowed spanners a big plus for me is the ease in which it can be serviced and maintained at home, by the home mechanic, without the need of any special tools or diagnostic equipment. If you haven't already you can download the Honda Workshop and Owners Manuals here.

Its Euro 3 compliant too so that'll get you a Yellow Crit’Air 2 but tell us this what's the difference in a motorcycle being classified as Crit’Air 1 & 2?

Are Crit’Air 2's not allowed the same freedoms as Crit’Air 1?

Thanks Pedro for the kind words AND the very wise tip. I have indeed noticed that around 50km/h (30 mph - I'm fine with both ), if I let the handlebar go, it immediately starts wobbling :-(( I'm obviously not going to fool around with that but coming from the CTX which did not have that issue I was a bit taken aback. Maybe the top case has something to do with that.

Wow. For sure you know how to draw someone's attention, Art. THANK YOU for this link!! Not having spent much time on the forum yet, I had not yet come across it but it certainly is a invaluable information. I like to have the local official dealer service my bikes as I keep the resale value in mind BUT in the case of this one, I might do more myself indeed as I intend to not change it any soon.
Now, in return, about your questions :
- Crit'air 2 = Euro 3 indeed.
- Crit'air 1 = Euro 4 and this applies to bikes that have been registered starting on January 2017.
- Crit'Air 3 machines won't be allowed in Paris as of July 2023.
So - today Crit'air 1 or 2 doesn't change a thing if you want to ride in cities such as Paris (Lyon, Lille, Strasbourg and others have also adopted the concept). But someday the local authorities may decide that, during a pollution burst, only Crit'air 1s can enter certain areas during certain hours of the day...
Note - failure to show the sticker : 135€ if you get caught...

Yes, that's the page I ordered it from.

That's a very kind offer but it could well be a quick in and out visit. I'm trying to hook up with an old friend from around  Porte d'Orléans and then I'm off to Charante to hook up with more friends and sample some top drawer Cognac.

From my reading of the European emission standards my Mk2 (SC64, same as Emmanuel's bike) ought to be eligible for a Crit'Air 1 sticker as the V5 indicates it complies with Euro 4:

CO 0.647 (limit is 1.14)
HC 0.145 (limit is 0.17)
NOx  0.088 (limit is 0.09)

When I try to apply for a Crit'Air 1 sticker the website tells me that the year of registration (2011) doesn't match the category being applied for. What am I missing here?
