Hello all you lucky people  :158:, I have been biking for a few years now (35-cough) with a few years off for good behaviour  :008:
Had Kawasaki's in the past but thought i would try something different, so crossed over to the dark side  :005: :008:
Just bought a second-hand CBF1000, 2011 mk1 with 17k on clock and full Honda Luggage, it hasn't got any mods on (rad grill, fender extender, gear indicator) so those will be the first things i will look into doing.
My first thoughts of riding the bike is that's its smooth and comfortable, uncomplicated, certainly gives me confidence when riding, one thing is there's a little screen on top of windscreen which seems to do nothing so has anyone got any makes of larger screen to stop buffering?

Anyway that's me saying hi  :031:

Just 35 years off and on in the saddle, your just a pup compared to many on here.

You've finally seen sense with a Honda and the CBF1000 is an excellent choice for a Sports Tourer that ticks many boxes in its class. A big plus for me is the ease in which it can be serviced and maintained at home by the home mechanic without the need of any special tools or diagnostic equipment. If you’re allowed spanners and you haven't already, you may want to download the Honda Workshop and Owners Manuals here.

Honda stopped making the SC58 in 2009 although much new old stock was parked up in Italy and at UK dealerships in an effort to beat the new VAT rates, late registrations of new old stock are common. To be sure of the year of registration check the 10th digit of the VIN.

I had a small 100mm screen extension attached to the standard SC58 screen until a pigeon hit it and broke one of the mounting arms, didn't do the pigeon any good either, I found best wind deflection was achieved by positioning the screen extension in an upright position.
