2008 CBF1000 fuel pump

Hi Guys,
I’m hoping someone can help me with a fuel pump issue on my 2008 CBF 1000. My bike hasn’t seen much use lately having covered only 4,500 from new and it appears a new fuel pump is required as the original has packed up.
I’m told by my experienced mechanic  that a new pump from Honda is over £600 and I’m wondering if anyone has replaced a pump with an alternative unit or perhaps knows of a working unit that may be for sale?
