on: 17 June, 2022, 07:52:11 AM
Hi! I have bought CBF sc58 recently, bike have 20k km mileage. I hear some tick sound from the right of the engine. This sound is present regardless of the cold or hot engine. When i rev the engine - tick become more frequent. Here a link to the video with sound https://youtube.com/shorts/ih_pNmUK8q8?feature=share

Could you please help me to understand is it normal sound for this engine? Thanks!

Difficult to pin point or diagnose rattles from video, it could be the cam chain tensioner, valve clearances or something else. If you're allowed spanners a mechanics stethoscope is your best friend, cheap as chips off eBay.

May be there is some resource where i can read about how to use stethoscope to understand what cause the noise? It is a new experience for me. Thx!

A mechanics stethoscope will only enable you to pinpoint the noise. For example to distinguish if it is coming from the vicinity of the valve shim/bucket, cam chain tensioner or somewhere else.
