on:
14 April, 2022, 05:47:10 PM
Hello All
I have a 2009 cbf 1000.
My rear shock is crap.
Can it be rebuilt?
are their any other bikes with the same shocks other than the cbf 1000 that I could fit?. For instant a st1300 rear shock.
Thank for your help.

Section 15 page 13 of the Workshop Manual and page 20 of the Owners Manual should be interesting reading. If you haven't already, you may want to
download the Honda Workshop and Owners Manuals here
. Have you checked what setting the adjuster ring is on?
According to Honda the factory fitted shock absorber cannot be rebuilt and must be replaced when worn out, however, if it can be built, it can be rebuilt, and
Brook Suspension
offer such a service. The better option maybe
a new OEM Showa shock
at £86 delivered from Italy.

That is amazing , thanks for the help. I think a new one from Italy is the way to go.
I don't have a manual so that will be useful too.
Thank you so much.
