Headlight keeps going off

Hello everyone
I thought I would ask if anyone else had this going on?
The running light will come on after the bike has started whilst there has always been a little lag - it now sometimes does not come on at all!
Then I restart and it comes on bit gremlinie if that is a word
Thanks in advance for any wisdom

Almost certainly it's the starter button!
I know this sounds ridiculous but there is a switch in there that turns the lights off when you start the bike to reduce the load on the battery. This switch is known for getting gunked up and not allowing the lights to work, particularly if the problem happens in association with starting (as yours does).
Take the switch apart and give everything a good cleaning.

Same thing happened to me, was the starter switch.
Some notes:
1. High beam still worked, so can do in a pinch
2. Happened after the one time I used high pressure coin wash, and wasn't carefull NOT to spray the controls. Now I mostly hand wash my biffer.

+1 The starter button has two sets of contacts
Ignition on, dipped beam circuit receives power, depress starter button, power is cut to the dipped beam and starter motor is powered.
