I change the tyres and balance them myself.
I put a Michelin Road 5 on the front a few weeks ago and have just changed the Rear.
It was a good job I double checked the Rotation marker on the side of the tyre as they are not the same. This may be standard practice but J have to admit I'd never noticed it before on other tyres.

    FRONT ...

    REAR ......

    Yes, not just mich's.
    - quite disconcerting.

Always advise people now to find the arrows.

Have found loads of info on this after Googling.
The reverse patterns are correct. Something to do with the braking of the front tyre and the accelerating of the rear.

I remember pointing out to a rider his front tyre was on the wrong way round and he was shocked. Brand new 865 Bonneville 1,000 miles out of the showroom and the front tyre is fitted incorrectly, how many checks did that clear?? I assume that tyre got checked and missed about five times! First when it is fitted to the rim, second when the wheel is fitted, third at final factory inspection, fourth at dealership PDI and fifth at dealership first service.
