PCV VALVE?
on: 19 July, 2021, 12:41:53 AM
So not a CBF 1000 But my little brother has a 2011 CBF 600 With 1100 Km and not a racer kinda guy.
When we were riding the other day I noticed a burnt oil smell only when riding behind him.
He did over fill the oil this spring and has drained some and brought it to the proper level in the sight glass.
Still have the smell. No noticeable oil consumption.
I was wondering about the positive crankcase ventilation (P.C.V.)valve ?
do they have one and where would i find it.

Or something else?

Thanks Everyone

Did he run the engine when it was overfilled with engine oil?

Is it possible some engine oil could have been drawn up into the air box through the crankcase ventilation system? If so this could now be being drawn into the engine through the intake and being burnt off giving the smell. Maybe? Worth a look.
