What is this?
on: 22 April, 2021, 04:07:33 PM
Don't ask me why I haven't noticed this before, in the year I've had this bike, but I've just noticed this, probably previously hiding behind other cables ...............

What is it?  It looks as if something plugs into the end.

Is that a (waterproof) covering cap ?

Positioned there it is almost certainly for a gadget on the bars (be it 12v or 5v) from a previous life.
- or heated kit socket.
Only do it right - no bodging please.   Keeper of the failed stator list.   John.

No, it's an open female socket.
I'll try to trace it backwards tomorrow and find it's source.
I was concerned that it may be some diagnostic socket and was reluctant to move it.

That is the cable supplied by Tomtom to connect their sat nav. Itís identical to the one I have on my Versys.

+1 TomTom cable. It could be always live or switched live or disconnected by whatever mean. If it now serves no purpose remove it.

Ah, makes sense as the later GT's came with full luggage, heated grips and Tom Tom.
Since I have a Garmin I don't actually need it though if I change to a Tom Tom in future then it will come in very handy.
I think I might cover the end up with something in the meantime.
Thank you all for your help.
