Seat height
on: 15 April, 2021, 04:54:08 PM
I picked the bike up today, and went straight out and did 70+ miles, motorway and mountains. Lifted  and adjusted the screen ( Givi , with some add on at the top) after 5 minutes, now home and looking at playing with the seat height, just to see if it makes it any better than it already is.
The Owners Manual says " This is a dealer operation"  the Honda workshop manual makes no mention of adjusment...  How do I get to play with this please?

The oil filter, there is a cover and then a cartridge , screw on , disposable oil filter, what's the purpose of the cover?

Final question, why did Honda bother putting extra gears in the box between 1st and top?

Loving it so far...

The seat: remove the pillion seat (using the key) and you should find a couple of bolts holding the seat on.  Remove these and you'll find the frame the seat is mounted to, this frame is held in position with 4 bolts, undo the bolts and move up or down to any of the three holes as required.  It's a 10 minute job, if you can tell the difference between a spanner and an allen key then you're fine.

As for the plastic cover over the oil filter - it protects the filter from getting a hole from stone chips, not massively likely but you've seen the damage they can do to windscreens.

Not sure about the gears - maybe to give your foot something to do if you're bored??  :001:
