2012 was a transitional year for the sale of Honda CBF 1000's with two models being sold. The earlier model manufactured between 2006 and 2009 was sold between 2006 and 2013 and is the SC58 (MKI). The later model manufactured and sold from 2010 to 2016 is the SC64 (MKII) possible with some new old stock being sold later. Check the 4th to 7th digits of the VIN number to be sure which model you have. While you're there check the 10th digit of the VIN number which indicates the year of manufacture 6=2006, 7=2007, 8=2008, 9=2009, A=2010, B=2011, C=2012 etc.

Whichever model you have the CBF 1000 is an excellent choice for a Sports Tourer that ticks many boxes in its class. A big plus for me is the ease in which it can be serviced and maintained at home by the home mchanic without the need for any special tools or diagnostic equipment. That's useful info..Im sure mine is a mk1 registered in 2012..it has two exhausts..which I prefer.I also prefer the look and styling..so think I'm gonna be very happy.Looking forward to getting to know it.
