Dead battery. Naturally, beer suggestions
on: 11 January, 2021, 03:31:09 PM
So I had trouble trying to start the biff on Saturday, checked the battery voltage and it was pretty low so on charge for the night but still no luck on Sunday.

Checked the voltage again and suspected a dead battery.

Just changed it back up, 13.2vlts at 15:00..... 12.8v as of 15:30, it's dead.

So my question is what beer should I order as it'll be a few days for a new battery to be delivered? 🙂

BrewDog are currently doing a nice little deal on 4 cans of their "carbon negative" lager called Lost, you pay 1.95 postage and the cans are free!  And no, it's not a scam!

Two downsides:

1. It'll take you 10-60 minutes to get onto their website unsurprisingly (don't close your browser!)
2. They're not actually despatching it until the start of February (I think)
(3. it's a lager and not an ale!)

Also Beavertown Brewery seem to be doing some interesting stuff, could also be worth a look, my local Sainsburys stocks a few of them.

Enjoy!

 :087: Nowt wrong with 12.8v.

The initial reading of 13.2v at 15:00 after charging is the surface voltage which means very little in terms of the battery's condition. The subsequent 12.8v reading at 15:30 after 30 minutes rest is, more or less, the battery's level of charge and is within the range I'd expect for a 12v battery.

But go ahead and order the beer anyway  :031:

Hi Phil, a freino of mine mentioned the Brew Dog thing the other day but I thought it sounded to good to be true but I'll have to check it out.

Morning Art, yea I assumed that but since to
Yester afternoon it's dropped to 12.4. To be honest I'm not 100% sure on the age of that cell anyway so don't mind picking up a new one.
