TT cancelled

Just read via the MCN newsletter that the 2021 Isle of Man TT in June has been cancelled. The TT organisers took this tough decision to avoid the nightmare scenario for riders, teams and fans from here and around the world should the event have to be pulled nearer the time because of the Covid situation.
You have to feel sorry for the IOM businesses having to take another devastating hit like 2020. Apparently planning for 2022 is already underway.

I’m sure The Isle of Man will do just fine, financially. The TT is just a hobby.

You make it sound like stamp collecting, the TT is far more than a hobby. Its a way of life for the competitors and for the islanders its a nice little earner that provides a substantial part of their income.

I was thinking more of the offshore banking services they provide. They must be quite well-off if they can cancel the Tourist Trophy. Oliver’s Mount and MotoGP went ahead this year, why can’t the TT?

Since the Democrats in the States aren’t very fond of Britain, and we’re leaving the EU next year, we’d better get used to some staycations for the next few years. Oz is a bit too far.

I suspect the £'s were much the same in 2019 and that belts had to be tightened in 2020
