Hi all . Just got my 2008 CBF1000 road registered this morning after purchasing off a guy who had it sitting for 10 years. The fuel had been stabilised, but had a little rust in the tank. New tyres on & went for a ride. Started off good, but now runs like a hairy goat, no more than 1000 rpm? Turn if off & it goes like the clappers for 10 klms & then does the same. It seems some of the rust has now clogged the fuel filter. Not liking what I'm reading about the fuel pumps.......

Lesson learnt, 10 years of laying needs to be thoroughly checked over, cleaned and fettled before taking to the road.

Here in the UK that would be a Winter project but you're just coming into Summer, roll your sleeves up and get stuck in lad.

Was that the red bike on Gumtree? Beautiful machine, congratulations mate.

Thanks Robcig. It was the one on Gumtree. It's almost like new.
Just gotta get the tank off & clean out everything. It'll be worth it!
