MK1 Panniers and Bracket
« on: 24 September, 2020, 10:50:01 AM »
Hi,

I am looking for a bracket and pannier set for a 2009 model, I have the original Honda top box rail on there so looking for one that works with it, preferably!

Near Cambridge hopefully someone has some :)

If you have the Honda rack you need the Honda rails and panniers

That they are and when any do come up the prices are so unrealistic for well past best used and abused kit.

Perhaps I should just get rid of the top box rack and fit a whole new Gigi system or something, just to confirm though, this is the top box rack I have so Iím guessing nothing givi will fit this?

Interested in this as i'm coming from another direction. I've got Givi rear rack but looking at maybe getting the Honda as the Givi rack fouls the pillion grips.
Now, though it has been said that you can't mix, there is this on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/c/11010866106
This seems to show the Givi removable curved pannier rack with the Honda rear rack. Is this a bodge job do you recon with the seller not knowing what they are doing? Or due to the fixings being different from the standard pannier rack that this would work?

Says image is for illustrative purpose only, I donít think thatís the actual one youíd receive looks like someoneís done a bit of their own fabricating there, itís so bloody annoying think Iíll have to bodge it too or just get a givi top box rack

Rather than some of the vastly overpriced battered used stuff on ebay, for just a few extra quid you can still get these new...

Carrier kit: £85.00 https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/649171456?iid=153194426951

Carrier base: £41.00 https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cbf1000s-2009-9-englandabs-mkh_model18601/rrcarrier-base_08l42mcwb00/#.X29WxzrPyUk

Original Honda pannier stays (or rails) are, however, usually found listed with unicorn tears in the Lord Lucan section of ebay.
