Gear selector 2016 CBF1000
« on: 05 September, 2020, 11:24:28 AM »
Hi all.
A couple of ****s stole the gear selector off my CBF outside house couple of weeks ago. Got them on cctv but were wearing balaclavas so can't see faces. Obviously stole to order, didn't take anything else, and were equipped to take just that. My question is this. My bike is 2016 model. Would the selector from earlier model,2010-2014,fit my bike,as they are the only ones i can find online. This has come at really bad time and money is tight so looking to replace as cheap as poss, and not pay Honda price. Thanks guys

Sorry to hear that but regarding your query about 2010 -14 parts fitting your 2016 bike, Honda stopped making them in 2012/13.
Mine is a 2017 but it was manufactured in 2013.

As above the CBF1000 SC64 (referred to as the MKII by some) was manufactured from 2010 through to 2013, as with all vehicles some get registered later, these being new old stock. The SC64 model specifications are mostly the same save for the ABS being an option on the earliest model and some differences. I'm not sure what, between models for European, North American and Australian markets. To pin down the year of manufacture check the 10th digit of the VIN number. Your VIN number should read something like

ZDCSSC64B0A******* = 2010 = CBF 1000 FA (without ABS)
ZDCSSC64B0A******* = 2010 = CBF 1000 FAA (with ABS)
ZDCSSC64B0B******* = 2011 = CBF 1000 FAB
ZDCSSC64B0C******* = 2012 = CBF 1000 FAC
ZDCSSC64B0D******* = 2013 = CBF 1000 FAD

I did, of course, mean they stopped making the bike in 2013. They continue to make the parts in case you were confused.
