Been riding 44 years, 1st bike Fantic Cabellero, since then owned approx 70 bikes, ridden many more in the golden age of despatch riders, just bought a CBF1000 A8. Liked the idea of a 'Mature' bike, mainly commuting, so wasnt mint, but came with all the boxes, plan on getting a larger screen, Oxford heated grips only working on level 1, but the main fault was/is after doing my 1st 30+ miles ride, coolant peed out the rubber hose by R/H foot rest, and expansion tank was gurgling..after checking here, done the top up Ran with rad cap  off till warm to dispel air, took for a run , no peeing out of coolant but cap on expansion tank either wasnt on tight or was pressured off so lost coolant again, nearly back home Temp light came on, so once more fairing off tank up top up again, ensuring Expansion cap on tight, so far so good anyone else had similiar?.
Overall impression, great bike to ride, ohh that Torque , comfortable and a secure ride, probably goping to be last big CC bike and hoping it will do the job :001:,

 :405:

The SC58 CBF1000 is a great choice in the sports tourer class and ticks many boxes including being compliant with TfL's ULEZ stealth tax.

On the overheating front I've been there, done that and got the tee-shirt, fixed the problem here but not sure how, probably a loose connection. The thread is an interesting read with similar problems being experienced by others and the suggested tests for resistance and voltage drops in the cooling system electrickery.

Thanks Art , really liking the bike, should  have had a hugger from new, why didn’t they, ? had to spend several hours Clearing swinging arm of rust and proofing, as for the heating fan does come on .. a lot is that usual ?? But done a couple of trips seems ok possibly an air blue ck in cooling system 👍🙏
