Permanent puncture repair

Hi all,
I got a puncture today in my fairly new rear tyre. A small screw right in the centre of the tread so an easy fix to get home with a  sticky strip type repair kit.
I'm not sure how permanent these fixes are but I do my own tyre fitting with a bead breaker and balancing kit so no problem removing tyre from wheel.
Thing is, I can't find a vulcanising patch type repair kit that you fit from the inside of the tyre some thing like the Stop & Go kit that's avaliable in the U.S. I suppose I could take my tyre to a repair centre for a fairly cheap repair as they won't have to do any wheel or tyre removing, but I like doing things myself if only for the convenience.
I'd appreciate any thoughts on this.

I have always had them repaired by the shop and never had any problems but I don't think I would ever do this myself.

Take it to the local trusted bike shop and let them have a look at what you've done in person, and see what they quote or tell you (for a patch repair, that is). Being sure to explain you're confident with bringing them the wheel loose, or even just the tyre yourself (providing you're actually confident in balancing wheels at home). If they would do it I'd guess they'd want to have the wheel and balance it themselves.

Based my last, and only, experience having got a puncture I'd just get recovery and take the damaged tyre to the shop to deal with. My local seem to dislike attempts made by owners (possibly making the hole bigger and more hassle to repair than its worth, but they are fussy at times).

They may end up telling you you're better of buying a new tyre, but who knows.

Use a tyre mushroom repair patch. Everything you need available on e bay. Have had professional repairs done using these, and have used them successfully myself. Never had any problems with them.
