    Main stand not available?
    on: 09 July, 2020, 10:24:26 am

    Greetings from Norway,

Just bought a CBF1000S7 a couple of days ago.  :152: I really want to mount a main stand on it, since there is non.
This is also were my problem begins. I've not been able to find anyone online who sells the main stand anymore, they all say it's went out of production.

So my question to you is, does anyone know where I might be able to buy one, or if there is another main stand from another model etc which fits w/o big adjustments?

    Thanks in advance!

    /Ken

    What is a CBF1000S7?

Centre stands for CBF 1000 SC58 models come up regularly on ebay. You'll need the stand, pivot, bolt and two springs. Show it a wire brush and three coats of Hammerite gloss black smooth and it will be looking as good as a new one.

Here is one I did earlier

This firm may be able to help you.
I had a look on the site and it let me put the stand in
the basket to buy and did not say out of stock as it normally does
if not available. It is expensive.
If you do find a stand you will also need the left hand cover on
the silencer as it has a cutaway for the arm on the stand
unless you modify your old cover.

    Thanks guys!

After some more detective work yesterday, I found a dealer in Germany who had the stand in stock. So order it form them :)

I think S7 is a short for SC58 2007. Alteast on all the sites I've been looking at they use that designation.

Left hand exhaust cut out - I forgot about that as above and as well as the two springs, pivot and bolt you'll need the left hand exhaust heat shield with the cut out to receive the centre stand when its in the up position.

Fitting the stand can be a challenge - Remove both exhaust silencers, grease the pivot, spring coils and spring mounting points before fitting. To fit the stand place it over the exhaust collector box pipes at a 45° angle left side first then right twisting the orientation anti-clockwise and then clockwise to get the stand over the collector box pipes and to engage the stand between the frame pivot points. At first it almost seems impossible and as if you have the wrong stand, patience is your best friend here. If the centre stand snags on the collector box pipes you have it at the wrong angle/orientation, it should be possible to pass the stand over the pipes without any snagging. Fitting the spring is the next challenge, I do this by hooking the spring on the front mounting and using a length of cord tied between the spring hooks and a lever using the rear wheel as the fulcrum, with the centre stand propped in as near to the up position as possible stretch the spring on to the rear mounting point, chock the wheels or put the bike in gear to prevent it from rolling forward and off the side stand.

S7 never heard of that, any idea what the 'S' would stand for? SC58 is the Honda assigned model type number and identifies the base model for what it is and distinguishes it from the SC64 and other Honda motorcycles.  CBF 1000 is the Honda assigned Commercial Name. What is the model type or commercial name shown on your registration document or Certificate of Conformity? You should see something like 'CBF 1000-7', the '7' being the manufactured year. The 1000 maybe suffixed with an A for ABS model, a T for Touring model or AT for ABS and Touring model.

Could S7 be a mistake - the A is next to S on the keyboard - so A7.
