In search of best value here.
I've ridden on Avon's, Bridgestone's, Continental's, Dunlop's, Metzeler's, Michelin's, Pirelli's and then some and have never had any issues with any of these leading brands. When it comes to comparing tyres new tyres have always felt better than the worn tyres they replace, always have, always will. I've found it difficult to distinguish between any of the above brands so my choice of tyre is based on cost where cost equals the real cost including delivery, fitting, taxes and mileage. So what are you riding and what are you paying ((Cost/mileage)*1,000) per 1,000 miles?
I’ll kick off with my last pair of Bridgestone BT-023’s
Front – cost £99.60, replaced after 9,837 miles, giving a real cost of £10.12 per 1,000 miles
Rear - cost £112.98, replaced after 10,548 miles, giving a real cost of £10.71 per 1,000 miles
I have a Bridgestone 120/70 ZR17 BT-023 in the garage to replace the front tyre which I got for £64.49 from
Tyre Leader and my MOT tester will fit it for £10.00 so that should bring my front tyre cost down to £75.00, estimating another 10,000 miles gives a real cost of £7.50 per 1,000 miles, I'm thinking that'll be hard to beat.
