Inner Bags for 33L Panniers
« on: 27 May, 2020, 02:48:53 AM »
I'm planning to buy some secondhand inner bags for the 33L panniers on my Mk2. I've identified the Honda part number as 08L56-MCW-802, subsequently superseded by 08L79-MGS-J30. Before I go shopping I'm hoping someone can answer these questions:

1. Was there any difference between the Mk1 and Mk2 panniers, or are they the same thing?
2. Were these inner bags fitted to any other Honda models like the NC750X (which would enable me to broaden my search)?

Are your panniers honda or a re-badged Givg/Kappa or some other type, as I have Givi that fit my blackbird and the biffa, perhaps a picture may help us to help you?? :460:

I don’t think you have to worry about being too specific. I successfully used the inner bags from my BMW RT 1200 on firstly my GTR 1400 and then my Mk 2 CBF

These are the numbers I have too.

But look up other (older) posts, esp. re- Givi bags (same case unit) (often seen on the bay)
I *think* they were actually from Honda's 29L cases - they certainly don't fill a 33L pannier.  I actually use them the 'wrong way round' and pack them light (not using the full available width) and stick them in the outer portion if the inner is filled already.

Unsure of compatibles - the 29L and 33L case that shape were used elsewhere but that is the key - look for 29L or 33L (not 27L or 30L or other random sizes).
Only do it right - no bodging please.   Keeper of the failed stator list.   John.

Panniers for the MK1 and MK2 are the same.

Inners - there's only ever one type and it's designed to fit in the lid.
