Black Widow 300mm GP Cans

Hi, first post here, so be kind!
I have stripped the bike to tidy it up and the clamps and link pipes are chuffed. If I’m going to do this I was thinking of getting rid of the 2 bazookas and adding something a bit more petite and throaty.
Was looking at the Stainless 300mm Black Widow for a Mk1.
Any experience good or bad? How do they sound?

Standard wear and tear there, the OEM Honda clamps have a short life expectancy, if you want to keep the standard cans that just needs a pair of 40-43 mm MIKALOR W4 Stainless Steel Hose Clamps.

Hi Assurg,

Recent convert to the CBF1000.

I too felt the end cans where quiet and went down the rout of picking up a set of black widow exhausts (400mm).

They are quite loud when you are going through towns and the countryside even with baffle in. So I can only imagine what 300mm will be like.
That being said they sound lovely

Hello I've just bought some 300mm black widow cans also bought a DNA air filter from a site in Greece I know what your all thinking Greece but the service was excellent and it was delivered free within 4 days just to mention if you buy the filter do not oil it first as it's already oiled from the box that will teach me to read instructions first do

Sorry forgot to say they are bloody loud even with the baffles a bit disappointed they don't pop though

You should be pleased they don't pop, popping is caused by unburnt fuel combusting in the exhaust valve port, exhaust pipe or silencer which of course leads to its own problems later down the road.

We live in an age when; the govt recently announced plans to prevent ANY secondary/DIY changes to manufacturers bike specs (altho they backed down later); the EU have proposed making speed limits lower for bikes than cars; when people complain to the police and to their MPs about “hooligan” noisy motorbikes disturbing the peace; when new petrol bikes sales are due to be banned in 2035; when even race tracks and track days have legal noise restrictions for entry.
In the light of society’s general downer on motorbikers, do you think it wise to make a bike “bloody loud”? As if we didn’t have enough enemies already without antagonising them further. Sorry, but “bloody loud” bikes are not a good idea IMHO. Many will hate me giving this pov, but I think it is worth considering the publics’ perception of loud bikes, and how the backlash might affect all of us sooner or later. And all for what……..?

Keep your shirt on mate it was a figure of speech compared to the standard bazookas I've even still got the baffles in so they are legal cheers art you are right if they are popping then the bikes not running right
