Apologies to all: only just been alerted to the replies ... AND WHAT BRILLIANT REPLIES THEY ARE! So informative and helpful: Great thanks to all who have taken the time and trouble to pass on the benefit of their experience and knowledge  :152:

Crispy:  :028: Sadly I didnít get any toolkit with the bike. Wouldnít know what to do with it if it had one! Itís a Honda! Iím not expecting any problems!
raYzerman:  :028: Givi? Will look into that.
Shed: 72?  :008: MRA is the make that I recall being mentioned a fair bit.
Ianrobbo1:  :028: Palmer Products? New to me but will look into them too.
Longside:  :028:
Victorthou:  :028:

Plenty there for me to look into and contemplate: Thank you all very much.
Anyone any other suggestions please feel free to add to this thread.

check this
https://www.mpf-windshields.com/2012-05-31-17-49-28

they make custom shields. The owner was a cbf1000 owner , so knows the bike.
I got one , it was too tall and  they cut it according my wishes.
Much better than the original one.

In your case , it would be better to know the exact height.

Hi, bit late to the convo but if your still looking, I bought one of the mra screens last year. I'm teetering on 6ft5 (yes the bike does look tiny with me on it) but the screen looks great and performs great.  :028:

hey,

i'm 6ft2 and ride a Mk1 cbf1000 , when i first got the bike i noticed that the wind blew right onto my helmet.
the (oem)screen was fixed in the upper position, i just dropped it to the lowest position and that fixed it for me.
if you want no wind at all you will need to buy a decent reflector with the screen in the upper position, or just buy an extra large screen from one of the known brands (MRA, Puig ..), and fix it in the position you fancy.

Thank you very much for your input DrTearjerker. Due to current crisis the CBF has had to take a back-seat at the moment but at the first opportunity I will follow up your suggestion (like that of another kind Forum member) and adjust the current OEM screen and see how it goes. However the screen looks in poor condition and could really do with changing at some point I think.

Would putting some spacers in be any help? CBF1000 2012. I got a screen off MRA it was tinted but only a tiny bit taller than the original. :012:

I had a tap washer on each of the bottom bolts which worked for me. Some put them on the top bolts. Screen worked better for me on lowest setting. Itís all trial and error
