ABS rear wheel on a non ABS bike?
on:

Hi ....... does anyone know if a Mk1 ABS rear wheel will fit a non ABS bike. Looking at pictures it looks as though the moulding is the some but with the flange drilled and tapped for the ABS ring to fit on an ABS bike, so I’m hoping it would just be a case of unbolting the ring. Any advice gratefully received
I am after a replacement rear wheel and there are far mor ABS ones available.
Cheers Steve

Can't help directly - being a mkII runner; but I think the clue will be the disc rotor. If these are the same part number then the (different?) caliper aligns the same. Maybe check the caliper slider casting is the same too.
From a mkII perspective, yes my hub has 'extra' bits which are drilled for the ABS ring mounts which does not affect my rotor fitting at all.

I'm in the same process and found the same I have the mk1. I have the abs model has does the misses her is the 600 and found her rear wheel fits the 1000 too. With everything lined up the same as original wheel. So in thought and bit more digging about and on phone to padgetts they confirmed my findings of been the same wheel with slight differences wich is abs ring or no abs ring

The abs ring is same depth of the brake disk so can't see there been a prob with it fitting. Or even clearances I'd leave the ring on fit it to bike and go from there weather the abs ring stays on or comes off
