Hi All.  I am currently without a bike (apart from a very aged Z750 that needs far more TLC than I can realistically give it at the moment!)  However, I am very interested in the CBF1000 as an everyday bike and and hoping to pick up some info about it from the forum before I go hunting!  Everything I read so far is positive, and as as I have been a Honda fan since primary school days (first bike was an SS50 long long ago!) it seems the perfect choice.  I look forward to reading through posts-galore in the coming days!

All the best

Pete

Hilts,

2008 is a MK1.

I have had quite a few bikes in my time, and other than my 955i triumph, I have not enjoyed any of them nearly as much as my CBF!!!

I love it even more now I have a set of louder cans on it!!!

Don't forget to post a picture when you buy it!!

The MKI ticks many boxes. It was sold from 2006 onwards and there are some new old stock models out there on 2012 plates. ID the MKI with its two exhaust pipes or by the paperwork Mr Honda tags it as a type SC58 confusing it comes with a type SC57 engine. It has a Euro3 specification engine so is ULEZ friendly (needs to be registered  with TfL with a Certificate of Conformity  from Honda for the London ULEZ zone) which may not effect you in Exeter but cities across the UK are watching TfL's latest stealth tax with interest.

Thank you both!  Toon, what cans did you use?

Exeter is not an issue emissions-wise at the moment, but could be soon as the city council are committed to becoming congestion free by 2025.  I live a bit further out and work in the opposite direction to the city, so I can steer clear of it pretty much entirely.

Hi,

I have hawk cans on mine, give a lovely mellow sound with baffles in and they are a load lighter than the standard Honda lumps!!!

Now get your bike bought young man!!!
