Take it to the local trusted bike shop and let them have a look at what you've done in person, and see what they quote or tell you (for a patch repair, that is). Being sure to explain you're confident with bringing them the wheel loose, or even just the tyre yourself (providing you're actually confident in balancing wheels at home). If they would do it I'd guess they'd want to have the wheel and balance it themselves.
Based my last, and only, experience having got a puncture I'd just get recovery and take the damaged tyre to the shop to deal with. My local seem to dislike attempts made by owners (possibly making the hole bigger and more hassle to repair than its worth, but they are fussy at times).
They may end up telling you you're better of buying a new tyre, but who knows.
