Averto alarm remove

Hi all.
I had a parasite draining my battery overnight,did a few tests and the averto alarm was the culprit.
As i understand it is a plug and play,I have now removed it and my amperage loss has been solved.
I then fitted the fuel tank and i tested it for firing up,which it did.so i then refitted everything,now it turns over but not firing.
So i'm not sure if the initial fire up was just the fuel that was already in the system?
Has anyone else removed one of these???

If it ran after you removed the alarm, but then failed to run after refitting the bits, assuming you are confident you didn't refit anything incorrectly, have you considered you may have just flooded the engine?

As per the manual:

1. Leave the engine stop switch set to RUN.
2. Open throttle fully.
3. Press the start button for 5 seconds. 
4. Follow the normal starting procedure.
5. If engine starts with unstable idle open throttle slightly. If the engine does not start, wait 10 seconds then follow steps 1 - 4 again.

Regarding step 5, if you can hear the engine trying and almost going, sometimes a very gentle on-off twisting motion of the throttle may help it to fire up properly. I'm meaning a few millimetres back & forth here, not full on-off twisting.

Once it's going let it run for a couple of minutes. Should all be back to normal now.

+1 what Shed suggests. Check fuel pump is priming, check for flooding, check your work.

Isn't the Averto alarm just a detection alarm that doesn't have an immobiliser? The alarm sounds when it detects movement or when the engine is started.

Just to be clear,when you say operate the throttle fully,do you mean hold it on full throttle for five secs or just fully open then let go?

Hold the throttle fully open for 5 seconds while cranking the engine, idea is to clear a flooded fuel system.

Sorry for the late reply,did the flooded engine procedure like you all said and eventually after a few attempts she fire up
So now i'm a happy chappy.
Now starts on the button no problems,just gone over the 64000 mile mark and i've had the bike close on three years with 36000 when i bought it.
No problems at all till the drain but now fixed!!!
