Hello to all,

Joined the Forum today to benefit from some of the kindly shared wealth of knowledge and experience that is clearly here from fellow CBF owners.
Bought a 2007 1000 F model three weeks ago on a spur of the moment from a local dealer, with almost no research! (On the strength of MCN Written review and two YouTube videos after stumbling upon first the dealer and then the bike!)
Ridden it only once so far: very nice.
Itís my first bike and Iím new to motorcycling: not got a clue!
Looking forward to riding it.
Ride safely everyone.

Welcome Riverman, hope you go on to enjoy your bike. Only had my 09 cbf a couple of months so still all new and good fun.

Welcome Riverman. A CBF as your first  bike, you have really spoilt yourself.

I hope you have many years and (s)miles to look forward to. Ride safe

Daft question; what makes you think it is an F ?
All Fs are mkIIs
- I know it is late (and there are many exceptions about) but an 2007 should be an A, surely.

This is relevent for when you ask for help.

There are many easy ways to tell, even without sight of the logbook, but do tell.
Only do it right - no bodging please.   Keeper of the failed stator list.   John.

Hello,

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Very kind.
I did say (I think?!) that I havenít a clue!
I thought it was/is an F as it doesnít have combined braking or ABS?
Obviously Iím a Numpty and stand corrected! Thank you!
So itís an ĎAí. Cool.
Definitely 2007 (apparently - confirmed via frame number with Smiths Honda when enquiring about what the name of the silver paint is in my hand for matching secondhand panniers) (Quasar Silver Metallic). First Registered in 2008. Twin Exhausts model (obviously)
Cheers

Good to hear from you. I also have a lot to learn about the cbf, and find the questions and answers on this forum from both new and experienced members very helpful. So thanks to all for that.

Well a little less now you've correctly identified the model  (an A / mkI).
Update your profile and stick a location in (needn't be too exact if that embarassed!)
And find some rainy days to trawl through the gems on the forum.

P.S There should (also) be a paint code sticker on the frame underneath the seat (remove seat to see).
