Near miss
on: 29 April, 2019, 11:32:20 PM
After a week or so I've got used to the Biffa.  Sure, doesn't have the blood & guts of the ZX-9R, but can trickle it thru traffic nearly as easily as the Innova 125, & at the age of 59 it's a lot easier on the joints than the Kawa.

I'm following a learner driver, in a BMW Mini.  Give him/her plenty of space - we were all learners once.  Follow them thru a 30 zone at a safe distance, then the national limit starts on a long, straight, uphill stretch.
Check mirrors, indicate, pull out.  For some reason give an even wider berth than normal - lucky, as the driver suddenly goes left onto the verge, then over-corrects.  If I hadn't given that extra foot or two I would have been clobbered.

As the header article/sticky suggests - maybe those 40+ years of riding experience make you pick up on subliminal signs from other road users.
Previous bikes in order.  CZ175,Honda CB125S & J, Jawa 350, Kawa Z400 twin, Norton Commando 750 Combat Roadster, CB750-4, Suzuki GT & GSX250's, Honda 400N, Kawa Z-650, KH250, GPz900, ZX-9R, Laverda Mirage, another ZX-9R, Triumph Sprint 900, Innova 125.  Loads of other bikes ridden as ex RAC/ACU instructor/Courier.
