Its an old post but i easily hit 255kmh even with topcase. The trick is engine oil. I was usin motul 5100 and hardly reaching 235kmh.after switching to motul 7100. My Bike easily climbs to 255 and still wants to go but rev limit doesnt allow it to. I suggest 7100 and you will notice the difference

An indicated 159mph on my mk2,it has a carbon can,kn filter, irridium plugs and ohlins rear suspension,runs on fully synthetic oil added to that,as my name suggests, I'm small and light and I was going downhill  :001:

I’m sure a Mk1 once did 25000mph, but sadly it burnt up on re-entry! (Ok, so it’s a slow news day!)
