MkII Steering Stem OD / ID ?
« on: 28 November, 2018, 12:48:58 PM »
Hi all,
i tried to look up by the search without luck
(while there are some interesting discussion on the bearings didn't manage to find that info on subject)

Does anyone happen to know the steering stem Out Diameter (mm) of the MKII ? and as a stretch the ID too...  :007:

Thanks

I'll try to answer myself by looking at the stem bearings dimensions (e.g. AB 22-1020)
which would read as OD x ID x Height

Upper bearing is 47x26x15
Lower bearing is 55x30x17

So it appears that the stem OD is 26mm and grows to 30mm at the triple clamp head (where the lower bearing will sit tight)

So a tube of 30mm ID and 2mm thickness (to avoid tuching the bearing cage) would be my friend...to sit the lower bearing (when the time would come)

If you see anything incorrect please advise

Cheers  :031:
