High revs with throttle shut.
« on: 04 September, 2018, 02:38:07 PM »
Hi all, looking for guidance!
Took my bike out for a spin, noticed that when trying to slow up for junctions the revs remained high at idle, 2000 - 2500 rpm.
Have had a look at air box / air intakes no signs of air leaks. Throttle cables still feel smooth and not “ sticky”.
Read posts on resetting ECU by disconnecting battery for a while ( worth a try - terminals due a good clean anyhow).
Will try adjusting throttle cables next. Any thoughts out there?

Cheers Jamie

Might be the throttle cables snagged somewhere under the tank? Could be worth checking the routing of them all the way.

Hi all, finally got issue sorted although it did cost an arm and a leg. Radiator had blown, therefore I was losing coolant. Strangely there was always a level in the reservoir. Had it plugged in at local dealership who diagnosed. Revs were up at idle attempting to maintain operating temp. Lead time for spare rad was almost 3 months, but nagging does help and Honda UK got involved / finger out. Back out on the roads again.
