2013 year model with twin exhausts and analogue?
« on: 16 May, 2018, 04:13:05 PM »
I'm thinking to get a Mk 2, and just saw a 2013 model for sale at a good price, but then realised its a Mk1 ?? I thought they changed in 2010. Surely it cant have sat for 3yrs unregistered? How could there be  a Mk1 getting sold in 2013....

Yes, it can have sat for 3 years unregistered. It may have been in the Honda warehouse rather than a dealers.

I'd still go for a MK 2 though  :008:
Red MK II with full luggage, MRA screen, hugger, crash bungs, heated grips and Autocom.
CB1300SA with a few bits.

yes honda had a huge stock of these bikes all over europe unsold and already had launched the MK II.

Mine is a 2012 MK I :) made in 2008.

Bought on offer from Honda for 2000€ less than catalog price. go figure... Stock 2008 tyres on it when sold....

Mines an 09 mk1,  1st registered in 2011.
Always ask the year of manufacture and haggle a discount
If not current year with the dealer.

Yip. Mine's a Mk1,  first registered 30 Sept 2012.

I'm told with the big increase in price for the Mk2, Honda sold both versions side by side for a couple of years.

Yeah, sad truth is that it don't matter when its made, its the year of Registration that dates it.

Can work the other way round though.

My Cooper S is a 2017 year model but because it was registered by the Dealer as a Demo, at the end of December 2016, its on a 66 Plate.

Not always the case;  for classic vehicles and exemption from an MOT the Date of Build is what counts i.e. the day the vehicle comes off the assembly line.  :152:  No more MOT's for me, Bridget rolled off the assembly line on 17th August 1978 :046:.
