Front seat any condition
« on: 24 February, 2018, 04:44:49 PM »
I need a front seat for my 2017 CBF1000.  I really only need the base as I am going to have a sculptured soft foam seat insert made and a new cover, but I do not want to alter my original seat. I have recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer and my standard seat is now too uncomfortable, as it is too firm for our crap roads.  You do not realise how bad the roads are until you have a problem. So if anyone has a ripped or old seat they want to sell please let me know, so I can keep on riding for a bit longer

I know you said 2017, but is it a MK1 (twin silencers) or a MK2 (Single silencer). The seats are subtly different.

I don't have a seat available, but have a similar "situation" with my innards.

I ended up getting an Airhawk Cruiser Medium seat cushion and it's made a world of difference.

Check them out here: https://airhawk.net/product-category/seat-cushions/

For the record, I have no affiliation, financial or otherwise, with Airhawk in any form.
Old enough to have seen it all, heard it all, done it all. Just can't remember it all.

Hi My bike is the mark 11 (single silencer). Can you tell me what the differences are to the mark1 as without a direct comparison to check they appear to be very similar mountings etc. I seem to think that the tank shape at the front of the seat may be a bit more curved/shaped if anything from what I remembered from my mark 1.  Do you know if a mark1 will fit on the mountings of a mark 11.
Also I am using a borrowed air-hawk seat at the moment but it feels like I am riding on a jelly even though I have let out nearly all the air, that's why I wanted to try and adapt an old seat to feel safer riding as well as to shape the foam to my own design. Thanks to you both for your replies

I don't know what the differences are, but I do know the MK1 seat won't fit on a MK2 (I tried) so I guess the mounting points are different.
