Asking price on here £3,350, £2450 offered on ebay auction and reserve not met.

Try Auto Trader - not many private sales which is good for you and a buyer can filter their search.  The private sales were light years better than stealer offerings and attracted much attention.  I used them and had approx 600+ views in a week.  Some tyre kickers who were dispatched to the sin bin pronto like, some trade chancers who received even shorter shrift but c.10 genuine positive interest.  Sold to a guy who called - we talked - he was knocking on my door 3 hours later.  Offered more than the asking price - 1 1/2 hours later money in my account, Sale contract signed by both parties (see AA sale contract for a car and adapt for a bike), fast BACS payment verified - he rode bike away.  Here is my advert on the forum https://www.cbf1000.com/index.php/topic,21502.0.html , my advert on Auto Trader was shorter but more pics and larger Higher Resolution - a picture paints a thousand words :028:

Without meaning to be rude or anything may I suggest:-

a) Better quality pics, after sprucing your bike up first.  Initial impressions count.
b) Reconsider your asking price, ask what you realistically expect to get and stick to it, if the bike is as good as you say a serious potential buyer will pay the price +/- a small margin.
c) Don't overburden a potential buyer with too much info and make it relevant to a purchaser.  Be honest with the scratches and the like but don't over egg it - or remove the offending bits and sell separately on here, seems that the market for spare parts is growing exponentially as the bikes get older.
d)  Stick to your guns when negotiating, make sure you have someone with you as there are sooo many con artists around, do not allow a test ride but do permit a third party engineer to inspect (i.e. follow Auto Traders sellers advice) and take your moolah only by BACS quick payment so you can see the loot is irreversibly in your account.

I hate the expression, 'it worked for me' but it actually did and Auto Trader was by far the best place I found to sell my bike on and at a fair commission rate.
.

Regards

Andy
