Once he got it up  I got out my car and walked over to him. only damage was his silly rocket box cover and pannier lid.

always wrap it around the brake lever or you will forget and move the bike - even pushing it is can cause damage so stop yourself doing so

This is my little remember aid: when a lock is added I put the ignition key in a silicon tube so I can't insert it in the bike.
I can still forget to put the key in the tube when I mount the lock though 
It's just a little aid extra.

MMM.  How long ....  Prace your bets,   now ...

It is on at the mo (just by way of fiddling around in the garage - not needed there).  The cord (rather short) is sitting on the throttle over the brake lever.  Then it occurred to me, I'm always on the left hand side when I drop it from the centre stand or roll it out from the side stand and I hold the left hand bar.

No need to prace your bets, a new one is coming up; how much damage ....
