I would tell the dealer what you did , could have been an expensive TPS at £850 !.
Another case of dealers not approaching a problem logically.... :172:

Just 'for the record' (in case anyone else needs to find more reference information)....

"...if you dont know which tps you need or are not sure you can look at the diagram above that shows all 3 styles. A,B rotate counter clockwise and C rotates clockwise."

So, taking Nuff's description in reply#60 of this thread "it rotates clockwise as you look at the slot" and the above, it seems likely that a TPS sold for 02-06 Honda Acura RSX base model & 02-04 Honda CRV will suit the CBF1000.

Edit. NOTE: It seems that many sellers describe the rotation (Clockwise or Counterclockwise) based on viewing from the outer side, NOT facing the slot. i.e., the opposite!

For example, here's a new one being sold at £9.90 + £1.16 shipping to my UK postcode.
Seller accepts payment via PayPal.

Left hand side-a semi transparent plastic tube on the left side of the airbox.

Seriously? Just that?... Came from dealer they haven't touched bike yet. It now starts but dies after 5 seconds. Unfortunately I only saw your answer now, will call them tomorrow. Thank you.

Digressing slightly, I have a 2013 Honda Jazz, 40,000 miles, the engine management light came on, caused reduced power, throttle body was the diagnosis, £415 the bill. The price of the part was £180. I am wondering whether this was the same problem as discussed here. Tried to extract detail from the service receptionist, but the computer said 'No'.....
Again this seemed extortionate, but it is back to what was said earlier, the lap top gets plugged in, a fault code is produced, and no further investigation.

Bike came back from the dealer, according to them they lifted the tank and bike stared working and no further investigation... So I have no clue what it was and yes bike is working and already clocked 100Km. Let's hope it's not weather related since that day it was particularly hot and now it's "normal".
