That is very interesting I have exactly the same idea,  I will probably be fitting an extra two tooth rear sprocket  allowing the engine to rev more easily and develop more power, making for a far better accelerating and  more responsive bike. Contrarily this does not make the bike use a lot more fuel as the engine is having an easier time.

Would this require the chain to be altered, and where do you get the  larger rear sprockets ?.

 Performoto  do a  15 tooth front front sprocket at about £23 , with a little write up about how it improves the bikes performance.
