I've got a Transcend camera in the car. Sits there behind the rer-view mirror and powers on when the ignition is turned on. It records onto a 16gb uSD card and overwrites the oldest when it's full.

As an example of the quality - watch this idiot driver http://youtu.be/arlAXw8FgYI

This driver obviously has no idea on what signs mean or white lines. He swaps lanes (illegally), realises he needs to be back in the same lane and then swaps back again. At the last minute, he thinks he may be wrong again (watch the brake lights come on) but it's too late.

Excellent definition - but is it suitable for a bike? Oh and what is wrong with the driving of the red car - it looks fairly 'average' for the driving I see on motorways.... :125:

I've now got an Innov C3 camera wired in to come on with ignition, been using it for last 3 months no issues and video quality is excellent.

I like the idea of "fit & forget about" cameras just like the car ones.  I do swap the SD card over every couple of weeks and review the footage just to make sure all is working as it should.
Biffa now traded for NC750X
The only stupid question is the one that you didn't ask.

No, it's not suitable for a bike as it's not waterproof and it needs power (no battery). Resolution is scaled down to 720p. It will do full HD but that takes up more disk space.

As to the red car driver - I agree - but if he'd been closer to me and I'd slammed into theback of him - who's fault would it have been if I had not had the camera !!!!!

I was being 'tongue-in-cheek', but sadly it does happen too often. :172: Even if you did record a shunt with your camera, it would still hurt.....  :006:
